No village

My parents are in my daughters life but they are too old/unwell to baby sit or anything like that. My wife's parents (we're a same sex couple) are overseas so that's hard but we try to connect via video calls. I actually found really lovely connections through my dad's older friends from his theatre company days! Keep an open mind, you may find the connection you seek from older people in other groups or through other friends in time xxx

Also I've learnt that to have a village you need to be a villager. I'm trying my best now to proactively be a villager for my neighbours and friends. Example: Dropping off food when there was a death in the family, going over to help clean when someone is getting ready to sell their house etc.
