Okay I’m so sorry lol. I have an appointment coming up but wondering if there’s anything I can do in the meantime. When I go to the bathroom I wipe and wipe and wipe and it takes foreverrr to come back clean. I even use wet wipes to really make sure it’s clean. But a few hours later if I go pee I find that there’s STILL stool when I wipe. I also have this flap of skin (?) down there. No pain or anything & I did have hemorrhoids during pregnancy but this doesn’t itch. Any idea what this is? Like I said, I have an appointment coming up but this is really bothering me!!!!

Hi! Nurse here. It sounds like the flap of skin you’re describing is what’s sometimes called residual from a hemorrhoid. It’s kind of like a skin tag that forms once the hemorrhoid heals! It’s usually painless but it can trap stool particles and make it difficult to clean, which may be why you keep seeing some stool residue after wiping. Using water and wet wipes is the best solution but if it’s persistently bothersome, it can be removed.

I’m not familiar with the actual flap of skin but in your case I’m thinking maybe a bidet would help? It’ll spray a ton of water before you actually wipe. And then in between poops when you go pee it’ll spray more water as well. Instead of wasting so much tissue/wipes to get it clean, perhaps install a cheap spraying only bidet?? Or use a peri bottle for now until you can get it installed. The appointment can help diagnosis what it is you have, the bidet/spray can help temporarily so you’re not using up so much tissue/wipes that can potentially clog up the toilet (coz “flushable” wipes flush yes but they don’t degrade in water I’m thinking more of blockage-wise)
