Debate: 3d ultrasound or pass?

My baby app has told me that, while ultrasounds are perfectly safe when done by a professional, they are not recommended under unnecessary guidelines. I didn't even think about how most 3d ultrasound offices are completely different establishments from licensed OBs, are they even qualified to operate such equipment? I'm not trying to hate, and I'd love some in depth pictures of baby, but is it really recommended? Also does an anterior placenta truly play a part in how good the photos come out? Tia

I’d rather know my child is safe & growing as they should be than to not, especially if doing it doesn’t inflict any harm.

I did one with both of my children and I’m so happy I did. I love the pics 🥹 Although I was high risk and my OB office did them. If I wasn’t, I still would have gone to an outside place and done one.

I had a 3D with my boy I had an anterior placenta & found him fine although he was covering his face with his hand so we didn’t see😆

I might be wrong but I have heard for 3d ultrasound they go inside the vagina, personally for me unless that’s is being done by a medically trained professional I don’t want it so it’s a pass from me.

My understanding is that they’re absolutely fine in themselves. The risk getting ultrasounds from unqualified sonographers is that they can miss diagnostic signs that wouldn’t (shouldn’t) be missed by professionals and therefore can cause false reassurance.

Ultrasounds are completely and utterly safe. I had like 11 while I was pregnant

If i wouldn't have had mine, i never would have found out i have gestational diabetes. It's my 1st pregnancy and i didn't know i should have been sent for a glucose test (my midwife didn't update my history when i told her my dad has diabetes, so she didn't send me for a glucose test).
I had a 4d sca and the sonographer did a proper assessment too. He said the baby looks on the bigger side and suggested getting tested for gd. I mentioned this to a different midwife (mine was on holiday) and she realised the other one didn't update my history and sent me for the test straight away.
Everything could be absolutely fine! It depends on the sonographer aswell of course. Just go by the reviews.
About the photos - you are paying for this, so they usually try and get good photos worth your money. Mine did take his sweet time to capture nice photos, but my sweet boy was taking a nap and didn't move much 💖

need advice

Im just wondering if there is any one out there that is past 37 weeks had a scan done and seen that there little one is engaged?
I had alot of movement yesterday/last night with my little one. Going to go to bed and the cramping started but they didn't last long and adventually I was able to go to bed.
I woke up the morning able to get out of bed straight away walk and didn't have a limp like I usually done with my sciatica and also was able to sit oj my bed and bend over to pick my phone up of the ground that was on charge with out my belly getting in the way.
I dont see my consultant until Monday so will be all the wiser then if baby is engaged I just hope he is and thats what the cramping was for

Reassurance

Just wondering if anyone else went through this. I’m genuinely anxious

So I’m 18 weeks pregnant, and I started spotting around 12pm today. I thought nothing of it because it can sometimes be normal. But I kept spotting till 8pm. I went to the er and they said that the baby is very low on my pelvis when he should be higher by now. The ultrasound showed the heartbeat (I wasn’t shown it) and they said that everything looks normal but they can’t do more testing because there was no one at the lab to test my blood samples or swab. They sent me home still bleeding (the spotting was pink earlier but now it’s gotten to a brighter red color) I have tender pelvis but no pain. Has anyone gone through something similar? Being sent home with no explanation and still bleeding to me is wild.

Red line on nose

My baby woke up from his first nap of the day with this red vertical line on his nose (and a little bit below it). He is 11 months old.

Any idea what this is? Should I be concerned?

He slept in his cot, which is empty, and I am not aware of him hitting his nose in his sleep.

TIA Xx

37+6 and not yet had my date, is it too early to call. Should I wait until 38 tomorrow?

Reassurance scan

Hi all, I just wanted to ask if anyone had had a pelvic scan at about 7 weeks and not seen a baby/had a heartbeat? I had a scan yesterday and a gestational sac and yolk sac were observed but not the baby itself. I’ve been told to come back in 10-ish days to see if there’s been any progress/change. I was a bit of a coward and didn’t have the internal scan which I probably should have done just to put my mind at ease! Wanted to find out others’ experiences :) I realise it’s hard to be completely sure of dates, but I know when I ovulated (quite late in my cycle) and off that I believe I am approximately 7 weeks (although off LMP I would be 8 weeks).

Thanks so much all - congratulations to everyone on your pregnancies :)
