To all the rocking mamas, how did you make you’re baby sleep on a plane without rocking???
I’m flying in a week and I’m concerned about nap
Any suggestions

In a carrier and a lot of bum pats or standing and rocking (still in carrier). Also i brought a muslin blanket and covered her face. If theyll tolerate headphones do the baby headphones because god forbid an announcement happens...theyre waking uo for sure

The movement of the plane basically did it for us and I guess a bit of rocking in seat. We introduced bum pats before flying (tho rocking was the preferred method) which helped x

I stood outside the toilets and rocked her. It wasn’t ideal but people were so lovely about it. A plane is also like a giant white noise machine which I think helped!

Back then when we flew with my son and he was way younger, I also went to the back where it was quiet and a bit darker. I rocked until he fell asleep and then could sit down.
He did take a lot longer than usual because of everything going on.

We flew to Universal a few weeks ago when my toddler was 22 months. He never ever has slept in public except a select few times. We were lucky to get a 20-30 min nap most days while there but He slept the entire 1.5 hr plane ride home! I didn’t do anything, the plane noise and vibration lulled him to sleep!

I was worried about this, but I made sure she was awake before the flight so her “nap” naturally fell during the flight time, subsequently she slept the whole flight (4.5) hours - granted it was a 6-7am flight and her night sleep was interrupted by travelling to the airport etc!
But the white noise of the plane and just generally being over stimulated by everything made her just pass out. Bum taps done the job xx
