All I will say is you don’t have to do induction if you don’t want to . Do what you feel is best for your situation . I swear midwife’s enjoy playing the induction card I personally don’t have it as against them

Advocate for yourself if you don’t want the induction don’t have it. And also ask them what are the specific risks to baby and me if I don’t have the induction.
Can I ask how they are measuring baby and know it’s on smaller side? Is this bump measurement or ultrasound and have you had a private scan to see if they think the same. You can find private clinics with midwife sonographers they will be helpful to ask this question to

Please do your research before. I wish I had, I would have chosen an elective c section instead every single time

Measurements for baby through scans are not accurate! Read up on it urseld, understand the percentage of risks for big and small babies. bc it's often something like around 1 in 2000 ect, don't let them force you into a decision you don't want. If baby is healthy and so are you then wait it out a bit longer than 37 weeks that's when they usually induce. Also induction can lead to you having a csection, so read into that. I had 2 emergency csection and im so glad i read about it fully second time round as i knew what was going to happen, all the side effects ect and it wasnt as traumatic as the first time round.
look into all the different types of induction too, here are some "natural" like the balloon
My babies, they thought was small but both times I had nearly 10lbs babies

Thank you for all this info, I kind of thought I jsut had to go with what the hospital says. This is my first baby so feel over whelmed with it all x

I was induced unexpectedly, placenta not functioning properly. I made it work for me though, kept asking for a shower until they let me take out and walked the halls until he was ready

I was induced with my second as my backwaters had gone at 35+4. I ended up going on. Antibiotics was meant to be induced at 37 weeks but due to still leaking some waters and already being on antibiotics I was induced and had my daughter at 36+5 so the choice is entirely yours. My situation was not a growth restricted one but for me I was happy to do the induction when they came to me on that night as I knew that there was a risk to her if I had waited those extra days. Make whatever choice you feel is better for you.
