He is dealing with raging hormones and very limited impulse control. I am a big fan of those worksheets that are like what was I thinking feeling doing before the event/what happened/who did it impact/what could i have done differently/how do I repair the relationship. A church youth group is an amazing idea by Cyndi even if you’re not religious. It’s an outlet, a community for them. The pastors in charge of that group ring the teens when they haven’t seen them for a couple weeks and check up, ask how they’re doing. My youth group at church is called “empire” they meet every Friday night from 6-9 and play games, jump around to upbeat worship music, make friends, plan outings and house parties run by the younger pastors in charge of Empire. They also have a womens group called Adore, a men’s group and a young adults group called ERA. I admit I didn’t go church for the religious aspect, but it’s a great community to raise my kids in and great influences all around them in terms of the kids that attend, the parents that drop them off and the pastors that run the group.
