So I wanted to take my son to Knotts for the ones who don’t know it’s theme park.
I have season passes and I’m going to go back to work next week so wanted to go out as a family before I get busy again. We also have a lot going on this June between birthdays and the World Cup which my husband is very passionate about. I wanted to invite him since if we just left he’d be upset when he woke up since we didn’t include him. At first he said he’d go but wanted me to drive fine. Then he said let’s just go to MIL’s house since she cooked and going out is too expensive. In my car fuel wise it would cost me $5 to drive there… my son being a 3 year old got into mischief like all do and my husband said no that he’s staying home because said husband didn’t put his MTG cards away and 3 year old spilled a drink on his cards. They were in sleeves and I think that’s husbands fault for not putting it away. Anyways what makes me feel angry is husband is watching a soccer game AKA the real reason he wanted to stay home. As a mom I feel like it’s wrong to under mine since 3 year old did do something bad. Plan tomorrow is telling Husband I am going to theme park alone with child and if he doesn’t want to wake up and go once I nudge him we are leaving. Feel fair? I also think I am still being too nice doing that…

One time my friends husband put is food on the couch instead of on the table and when the dog ate the food, he blamed the dog and punished him.
Was that the dogs fault for eating the food or the husbands fault for putting the food in a place the dog could reach?
To me your husband decided to punish the child for an accident that could have been prevent had he put his things away is a punishment for you as well because it takes away the plans that you created. Also the punishment doesn’t fit the “crime”.
He spilled something on something that he has no context of importance to, put him in a time out chair for 3 minutes, tell him to be careful, then go on about the day. Taking a whole day away from him and you seems unfair.
