Car Seat

Please I need good recommendations on which car seats to get for my 17 month old.. the one we had before was the one she used from birth but now we are thinking of changing it because she’s grown taller and her legs are bigger and we want her facing forward…

So a bigger car seat is a great idea as they grow but I wouldn’t forward face until they are the proper height and weight for safety! 😁 I don’t have any recommendations as I am wondering the same question for my LO

You’d be best off posting somewhere like bump to booster UK Facebook group for recommendations based on height, weight and age.

We have the Axkid minikid 2 though and absolutely love it. Will rear face until my son is about 4/5.

Forward facing before 4/5 puts them at 5x more risk for internal decapitation and fatalities in a car crash that would be avoided by rear facing.

Please don’t face her forward so young, it can be so incredibly dangerous. Their bones don’t harden until around 5 so they’re at much higher risk of severe injuries if you’re unfortunate enough to be in a crash. My eldest is nearly 4, really tall for his age and is still rear facing comfortably in his Axkid minikid 4. He has very long legs and has never once complained of being uncomfortable. Axkid movekid is on offer currently for 265 and will keep her rear facing until she’s a safe enough age to go into a forward facing high backed booster. As above, bump to booster are a great group and the admins on there sell the Axkid seats x

Do you kiss your kids on the lips?

I was at playgroup today with my 1 and 2 year old chatting with another mum whilst they were running around and my eldest came up to me mid chat and put her hand on my shoulder and leaned in for a kiss then hugged me and ran off I obviously kissed her back. My youngest copies everything her big sister does and did the same.

The mum I was talking to asked me don’t I feel strange them kissing me on the lips that she won’t let her little boy. I never thought about it but now I’m thinking is this weird I do it? Should I stop them kissing me on the lips and stick to kissing on their forehead 🥴

Freaking out- flat spot on baby’s head.

So I took my little one to the doctor he’s 4 months old and the pediatrician sent a referral to a social worker for in house PT I’m concerned. I’m doing my best to reshape his head. I’m just upset do they think I’m neglecting my baby? This is only the 1st time my doctor told me they were concerned about his flat spot I have always asked in the past

Prams dirtying house

I’m sure there’s a very logical solve for this but week 3 baby brain has kicked in!

After coming back home from a wet walk with the pram, I then have to traipse mud through the house to roll it back in (it lives in our kitchen and has to roll through a small carpeted entrance hall.

Does anyone have a solve for this / way to stop their house getting filthy from pram wheels?

Cribs

I’m indecisive as to whether I need to get a Moses basket for my newborn or if a crib is perfectly fine.
We already have a crib that fits perfectly in our room and our baby will in our room for at least 12 months.

We also have a rocking crib for downstairs too. So realistically is a crib safe for a newborn?
