Sorry it’s a long one.
I’m 40+4 and really struggling. I’ve got awful joint pain in hands and knees which is making every day life 10x harder.
Midwife attempted another sweep on Monday and she said the cervix was still really posterior so she couldn’t do one. The only good thing she said was that it was really soft so I assume that’s a good thing?
I’ve had no other signs of labour. Not lost my mucus plug and occasionally get period like cramps.
I’m trying everything possible to get this baby moving but nothing seems to be working.
I’ve refused an induction for now as it seems too early but I’m worried I’m putting my baby at harm but not having one. I suffer with bad anxiety and can’t help but overthink everything.
I have to go to the hospital at the end of this week to have baby monitored as I’ve refused the induction . My midwife has already warned me that at the at the appointment the doctor will really try and convince me to have an induction.
My midwife is great and doesn’t agree with the way the hospital try and force inductions. She even mentioned that the hospital is so full at the moment thag they start the induction but then don’t have the space to move you on because there’s so many women waiting.
I’m not sure what advice I’m looking for I’m just struggling as I feel like have to make a big decision in such a small space of time.
I just want my baby to arrive here safely.

I was 41 weeks with my first born baby and was soo tired of being pregnant so the night before i had the contractions i had sex with my husband and ate spicy pad thai which was very good and i believe doing these helped start labour so try everything and try to be active i know it’s not easy with the pain but just being a bit active will help , prayers for you 🙏

I think if I was in your position I’d say yes to being induced at 41 weeks, baby is full term and healthy and it’s affecting your wellbeing by the sounds of things.

I am 40+3 today and no signs of labour I feel exactly the same way you do. Just staying positive and hoping contractions finally come otherwise will go for C-section on Monday . Fingers crossed
