Potty training success🥹 🙌🏼

My son is about to be 2.5 and we have a baby due in August. I started putting underwear on him and a pull up over with a collapsible potty seat when we went out, and we got a Bluey potty seat with steps for home as well as a small sit on potty for whatever room we're in. Days one and two were hell as you can imagine 😂 we had a poop in the potty though so I was feeling pretty good!

But I didn't yell or scream (like my mom) and we just took care of cleaning up with no shaming. By day 3 he had one accident when we couldn't get to a potty soon enough and peed through his nap (pullup was over it was ok). Day 4 he did no overnight pee (same undies and pullup) and had a big pee in the morning! Day 5 and he didn't pee overnight and stayed dry through nap. One accident because we didn't ask about going potty and he was distracted with Blue's Clues. He did say sorry and we just used the furniture shampooer to clean up. Today is Day 6. We have had a day of going out and going potty with no pullups as backup and today we'll do the same.

I'm just so proud of this kid 😭 and so grateful for the answered prayer of potty trained toddler before newborn gets here. I know regression is likely anyway, but I'm so grateful for this moment now. I always see bad potty training experiences and hear things about boys specifically, so I just wanted to offer some hope to other moms that it's possible for things to go well and smooth 💗
