Tricky situation
Hi mamas, my baby dad cheated on me through my pregnancy and I found out after giving birth. We broke up of course as he wants to start fresh with her. I had to move in with my mum which means that I have to quit my job in the county I was living in with him. I’ve heard that if I don’t go back to work they will make me pay my statutory maternity pay which has been paid to me the last few months? My LO is now 5 months and I’m due to go back in September. I don’t know if I should quit now and not receive the rest of my benefits from the company or leave in September? I’m so conflicted and want to make the best choice for me and my LO 🥲
P.S I forgot to mention my work is located in a different county from my mums so I wouldn’t be able to travel to work whilst living here

They can make you repay your statutory pay, it’s only your enhanced (extra pay). I’m currently doing this, your entitled to stat pay regardless of whether you return or not 😊
Don’t quit now, keep your role as you’ll be entitled to be paid all your accrued annual leave and you’ll keep accruing this until your last day. Hand your notice in closer to the time. I was due back at the start June and handed mine in in May.
