Head banging 😣

Anyone’s 15-16 month old deliberately bang their head on things? My son has been doing it on walls/doors/his cot bars for a week or two now and sometimes really hard.

This morning he did it on the wooden floor for the first time and i think it’s probably an attention thing/just a new habit he’s learnt how to do and finds ‘fun’.. However i’m worried he’s going to really hurt himself and unsure if it’s normal and whether to tell him off or try ignore it so he doesn’t get the attention from us.

Am I crazy?

We sent a list of boundaries & expectations (rules lmao) to my in-laws before the baby comes. The last one was if the baby is fussy or needs to be changed or fed, then hand them to me, De Mama. My MIL said it was “odd” that we would ask for the baby to come to me and not her son, and then she asked why me. My husband told her because I’ll be around the baby the most and it makes the most sense. I said because I’ve held that baby for 10 months and I want them. I know it’s none of her business WHY we implement rules for our home and I know I shouldn’t care because it’s MY home and MY baby but help an anxious, 32-days-left girly out. Am I nuts? Is this an unreasonable rule?

5am day starts

My 7 week old seems to wake for the day from 5am unless i put him in the sling he will then go sleep.

Will this eventually change and settle into a normal time if maybe 6/7am?

I have a 2yr old as well so praying this will change because my days are becoming sooo long. My toddler happily sleeps till 7/8am usually 😴

Sleeping with comforter

My baby girl is 6 months and likes to hold a muslin to sleep. If she’s got it she can resettle herself at night but can’t without it. I let her have it while I can watch her on the monitor until I go to bed but then take it. I know guidelines are clear cot until 1 year and I wouldn’t feel safe knowing she had it anyway. Any ideas or suggestions I can try so she doesn’t keep waking just for that comfort which she can’t have?

Colic

I am a first time mum. My baby is a month old, and is having uncomfortable movements and cries a lot during evening hours. And make faces while passing wind.Any suggestions how to deal with colic pain??

Did your kid Stutter?

My son (2.5) started potty training a month ago. Sometime between may 22 and may 29 he developed a slight stutter. Over the last few weeks it has gotten worse. His vocabulary and communication has always been good (probably higher than average for his age). This came completely out of no where!

I’m kind of freaking out. Sometimes the stutter is pretty bad. It makes me so sad for him. I feel guilty that it could have been something I caused.

Any of you experienced something like this out of no where? Did it go away or stay? How long did it last?

Breastfeeding struggle…

So I am 2 weeks and 2 days postpartum.
For the first few days i managed to breastfeed directly however ended up with sore, lipstick shaped and bruised nipples. I also have flat nipples, so thats a barrier. Hence I was advised to give them some rest and only pump and feed via bottle.

I did that, and did try to get my baby to latch again however I get sore often again. So its been a week now that he has only been having pumped milk via bottle.
Now when i try to get him to latch, he gets frustrated and refuses.

I know he is still having breastmilk and he is gaining weight really well. Birth weight was 2.8kgs and now he is 3.4kgs.
But the sense of guilt of not being able to breastfeed directly really kills. I cannot provide him with the comfort of sucking or milk right away when hungry (as he has to wait for us to heat up the milk)
I haven’t had a lactation assessment yet nor have the team looked into tongue tie.
My husband is very supportive and keeps reminding me that this is not the end of my breastfeeding journey. We sometimes think that maybe his mouth is too small for proper latch as I have quite heavy breasts. So maybe when he’s a little bigger?
I don’t know… i feel very defeated with it and sometimes just wonder if I continue with exclusive pumping and feed via bottle… is that still okay?
