I need advise from someone who works in NHS recruitment or has been in the same situation.
I left my nhs job 1 year ago due to children needing support and was a stay at home mum for the year.
Since then things have changed and they no longer require it so have been looking to return to work. I ended up getting offered a job with my previous employer at the NHS. Recruitment have asked for a character reference from someone in standing that has known me 3 or more years.
Are they not able to use my manager who rehired me? As they’ve know me over 3 years and can vouch for me in terms of work ethic.
I’m going to call them tomorrow and ask but has anyone been in this situation before?

Anyone can give a character reference, someone from your team or any other colleague? Also doesn’t have to be work related reference for character
