I had my c-section on the 22nd of may and the healing was going really well until now- I have an apron belly and I’m really struggling to keep it dry and free from moisture, I clean under my belly 3/4 times a day and let it air out too but I have developed some skin irritation and potentially a fungal infection.
Has anyone else experienced this and have any advice ?
I do also have a midwife appointment tomorrow so will bring it up then.

I used to roll up a small muslin and put it under my belly which I found was super soft and kept it dry. You couldn’t really see if I wore leggings and a big teeshirt. Depends on the size of your apron though - some of the girls on here recommend putting a pad on the inside of your pants facing your scar to help. Savlon also helped when it got itchy.

This is exactly what happened with me. I went to the doctors and a&e for help because it was weeping and smelly, nothing they gave me helped and alot made it worst. In thr end ive simply been wiping it with salt water with a couple of drops of tea tree oil in it. Soaked a cotton pad in the water and wiped it over the surrounding area where it was red 4 times a day. Ive been fighting this fungal infection for a month now and I started this a week and a half ago and its almost healed now. I was in so much pain from it.
IM NOT A DOCTOR AND ALWAYS DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH. This is just what healed me. Creams made it worst and antibiotics didnt touch it. Air it out as much as possible even if means just walking around in cotton pants its better than lots of layers. I tried the pad trick but I found healed better when I stopped

Also I started tea tree and salt water at 4 weeks post c section when my stitches should be desolved as im not sure of effects on stitches, however salt water would be safe
