For those that wanted an epidural for their birth, did you actually end up having one?

I recently heard that some women who state they want an epidural don’t get one for various reasons, mainly no anaesthetist being available. Has this happened to anyone?

(Also anyone that feels comfortable sharing which hospital/area they are in please do, I’m in the North Wales area and can’t decide which hospital to give birth in)

I can't speak for epidurals but Glan Clwyd were fantastic. The birthing suites can be any way you need them to be and the staff are so supportive. Barely knew they were there for most of the remaining labour. I was apprehensive about a hospital setting but had a surprisingly calm experience even with a bit of a complication post-delivery. Glad I went!

Hospitals

I am currently pregnant and have not had any scans or tests done (5 months) my midwife has sent out a referral for Birmingham women’s but they haven’t gotten back. I had my first child at heartlands and did not have a good experience therefore I do not want to go back there. Can anyone recommend a good hospital but not too far from Birmingham city centre.

Partner and baby moving

Just wondering if anyone else’s partner is like this.
Every time I say the baby is moving and want him to look or feel he’s so distant. He says he just doesn’t understand the fascination, as it’s not in him.

He’s been amazing in terms of how he sees his job as caring for me. Which he does, but he doesn’t seem as phased as I am about baby moving. 🤷🏼‍♀️
Am I reading into this too much? I’m almost 25 weeks.

Scan week before due date?

I’m currently at the hospital having had a 36 week growth scan which they have confirmed his heads down and on the report he’s currently weighing 6lbs 9oz. The reason I have had growth scans is due to having low pap a so everything seems ok now. They’ve told me I’ll be having another scan at 39 weeks, has anyone had this before? I didn’t think I would be but I’m waiting to see the dr now and I’m going to tell them I’m wanting a c section due to my past pregnancies this will be 4th, just wondering why they’d book me in for another scan week before my due date will this still be the case if I’m wanting a c section?

Does anyone feel the same 😂

I'm currently 37 weeks pregnant, I should be happy and excited but all I want to do is sleep and be on my Own. I'm not in any discomfort I just want to be alone looool.

Please say this is normal as I feel slightly depressed 😂.
