Second pregnancy

Has anyone had a GTT and been told they haven’t got gestational diabetes, but been testing at home and numbers are high?

I had gestational diabetes in my previous pregnancy, my fasting numbers were a problem so ended up on metformin and insulin. After meals weren’t too bad, 9 times out of 10 getting under 7.8 after an hour.
I had a glucose test at 14 weeks and again last week at 26 weeks and was told both times my results were normal and didn’t have gestational diabetes this pregnancy. I still have my kit at home so have been testing, and my fasting results have been 5.6 - 5.8 for the past 3 days. After meals have been in range.
Where do I go from here? Do I contact the diabetic midwives and tell them? Or do I just trust the test results from my glucose tests.

Hey, this was sort of me. They suspected GD after my baby’s stomach was measuring big at 32 weeks scan. Did GTT test at 33 weeks and came back clear. Baby’s stomach still measuring big at 36 week scan so instead of another GTT I did the finger prick testing instead and high levels from that led to my diagnosis. Fairly certain I had it at the first GTT tbh based on baby’s stomach but not really sure why it wasn’t picked up by the test. Maybe worth flagging to your midwives just in case!

Are you having additional growth scans? Did you have a large baby or baby with complications last time? If you feel like risk is high I would let them know but they would potentially pick up bigger tummy measurements in growth scans and check again too. You could mention you are showing signs of it again and see what they feel the best course of action would be

Conceiving first child

Conceiving your first (or only) child timewise took…

I’ve included one time because that was what my experience was, seeing how unique (or not) this is.

Conception is a blessing and appreciate not everyone conceives quickly ❤️‍🩹

Funniest pregnancy brain moments?!

I’ve just been laughing at myself because yesterday I was holding my phone whilst frantically looking for it and today, instead of body cream, I started using my hair gel to moisturise 😂😂😂😂. Tell me I’m not alone!

Is this normal feeling like this? I can’t get in to see anyone till late next week when we have our 6 weeks postpartum check up

I never, ever want to be pregnant again, and so sad I'll never be pregnant again.

I don't feel any sadness at the thought of never being pregnant again. I'll be glad once this is over!

Would appreciate some advice from someone who isn’t my husband 😒

Been to the dentist this morning to get a treatment done… it was about 2hrs long! Of course because I’m pregnant these some risk of premature labour. Once they’ve started baby was super active like way more than usual. When I was done I told my husband that baby was way more active than usual and I just wanted to get baby checked just incase his distress. My husband was like it was a one time thing just wait a few days! I’m like well no because this isn’t baby’s normal pattern and the new guidelines says any concern, ring straight way to make sure! My husband is saying don’t bother but I don’t know because this isn’t normal! It just feels like his dismissing my concerns! Do you guys think? 😔
