Ex drama

I honestly don’t know what to do anymore and could do with some advice from anyone who’s been through something similar.

For months I’ve been dealing with threats of court, patronising messages, constant criticism of my parenting and being made to feel like an awful mum. It’s got to the point where I’m anxious every time I see a message from my ex.

More recently he reported me to social services. They contacted me, looked into everything and the case was closed with no further action.

The whole situation has completely drained me. He rarely sees our daughter, has only spent a few hours with her over the last 15 weeks, and hardly asks about her, yet I’m constantly having to defend myself as a parent.

I’ve tried being civil, I’ve tried keeping communication calm and I’ve tried doing what’s best for our daughter, but I feel like I’m getting nowhere and the stress is affecting me massively.

Has anyone been through something similar? What did you do next? Did you seek legal advice, apply for a Child Arrangements Order, or find another way to deal with the constant conflict?

I would speak to Family Rights Group advice line. You could consider something like sendin one final text to give details of how to contact you via a parenting app so all communication is admissable in court proceedings should it come to that then literally block him. Ultimately my impression is this is post separation abuse, and I'm sorry you're in this situation. Cafcass website has further information. Your local womens aid may also have some support groups for you to join.
