When people talk about ADHD or autism they talk about getting a diagnosis so that they get the correct support. What does this mean?
What support do you get when you receive the diagnosis as an adult/child?
Who provides this support? Are there limitations of this support?
I’m trying to understand why people rush to get diagnosed if something doesn’t have treatment like medicine etc…

ADHD can be treated with medicine. Also in the UK, there are some places that offer ADHD support (like therapy) and they will only help you if you have a diagnosis. Most typical therapy doesnt work for neurodivergent people so they need specialised therapy.
People rush to get diagnosed so they can understand themselves because everyone tells us theres something 'wrong' with us. Most people will say it's life changing (mine was)
