When to exercise again?

I’m only 2 weeks post C-Section (emergency) and already itching to get out and exercise again and do things to feel more like myself! Physically I know I can’t because I’m in so much pain with the wound and I know it’s not recommended until at least 6-8 weeks. Plus I’m shattered with the lack of sleep and have no idea how I’ll find the time to get out and exercise with a baby. I used to love yoga, swimming and strength training. Realistically when would I be able to do anything like this again? At the moment I can barely walk around the block without being in pain for the rest of the day so I don’t expect it to be soon. But I had a broken arm since the second trimester of my pregnancy so couldn’t do any of the usual exercise anyway, so it feels like it’s been so, so long for me 😩 I know it’s not a priority, but just want to feel like myself again. Feel so grim being stuck at home resting all the time. Maybe I just need to focus on recovery and self care and newborn cuddles first. Just can’t help but miss my old hobbies!

Hello! I’m 6 weeks and by no means am I saying you should be doing this because I do honestly just see how I am each day but I thought I would share my journey to help you see the end was in sight!
Week 1-2: short walks around the block with pram and hubby
Week 2–4: extended walks up to 8km with pram and hubby
Week 4-6: walks up to 10km with pram
Week 6: back in the gym doing cardio and leg weight machines ie no ab work and also went swimming today with the little man and hubby
My plan is to slowly build up my stamina in the gym, im planning on a yin yoga class next week too and aqua aerobics but waiting on doing Pilates and ab work until at least 10 weeks 😊
