Hi everyone, I need some advice.
I have an autistic daughter, and we live in a two-bedroom council house (grateful for that) where I currently share a room with her.
I separated from my partner and am basically starting from scratch. We’ve been here for two years, and I’m now able to apply for another council property so she can have her own room, or possibly a house without stairs, which would be better for her.
The problem is that I’ve already applied twice before with medical priority and was denied both times. I’m worried this third application will be denied too,
My dilemma is whether I should start investing in this house and making it feel like home, or wait and see what happens with the housing application.
I don’t want to spend money on improvements and furniture (the house really needs improvements) and then have to move shortly after.
At the same time, I feel like I’m in limbo where all I can do is wait, And I feel like I'm failing at being their mother.
We don’t even have wardrobes yet because I keep thinking “if we moving”
What would you do in my situation?
(Please be kind, I am sensitive)
Thank you

Why don't you compromise and get furniture second hand from charity shops; British heart foundation, etc, and then upgrade as you can afford it. There are charities that support families for new children's beds https://zarach.org/. Or help with getting furniture https://endfurniturepoverty.org/get-help-with-furniture/. You can apply again, but maybe ask how likely it would be. Potentially, if you've got a safe house, they may consider you a lower priority than someone without a home? Also, there landlord/council should be responsible for upkeep of the home. Especially issues like damp or mould. Regardless of whether you get a new home or not, you want your daughter to have the best home environment wherever you are. My mum was a single mum who went without stuff to give me and my brother the best start in life. I know how difficult that can be. I wish you all the best.

I would say live the moment upgrade without spending a lot
For example second hand furniture
Or check db pages sometimes prime give for free ..
even if you stayed another six months there at least it was in a nice environment
