How do you pump away from home? How do you keep the milk or do you pour it away?π
My son was born 4 weeks ago and is in the NICU so I'm either pumping at home or at hospital. The hospital loaned me a medela pump to have at home (plugs into the wall) and I've taken that with me when going to someone's house, but I'm going out to an event in a few weeks and wont be able to bring it with me. I panic bought KissBobo wearable pumps (I had an emergency c-section at 28w so I didn't have time for much research) They aren't amazing but it's all I have and can't afford to keep buying/trying different ones.

I believe you can actually rent pumps if that's better money wise?
I had Philips Avent Hands Free and would take that with me when I went out, along with spare pump parts so that I didn't need to clean them often. Otherwise a manual hand held pump is a good and cheaper alternative :) you'd just need to find a nice quiet spot for it.
What kind of event is it? Could you use a fridge there to store the milk? I had to combi feed my little one, so if I was out for a longer without a fridge I'd personally pump and dump. But I realise that may not be an option.
I hope this helps! X

Also, a friend I have in America has to pump at work so bought an expensive breastmilk flask which is supposed to keep it cold for over 12 hours. But I think that would be a waste for one event. I also forgot to add that I hope you and your little one are doing okay! Can't begin to imagine how stressful/worrying that must be to have such a tiny little one. Sending love x

I have the medella freestyle and thats all ive used for 25 months (been pumping 26 months). I just microwave steralise them in microwave bags. Once cool I put them together and back in the bag (or assemble when needed. It depends if i know ive got access to a private area and sink). When I need to pump i just either antibac my hands or wash hands and put pump on. Tubing on and pack in my pocket or around my neck if im in a dress. I have a cool bag with milk bags in. Ive had milk in there for 10 hours and its been fridge cold (i put cold milk at the bottom and freshly pumped milk at the top). Ive only ever gone out once and pumped a dumped and that was for a beer festival and I just didnt want to carry around everything but I had sooo much milk one day missed wasnt an issue (i was freezing 4 out of my 8 pumps).
