Does anyone's 8 months old drink from a straw cup?. I have tried to give my son the Munchkins straw cup which is from 6 months, but he just bits it, and doesn't actually suck from it.

I also bought another cup with a beaker on it, but his also showing no interest in drinking from it. He is currently still using his milk bottle to drink water from, and can drink from a cup if given to him, but I can't help but feel like his behind, because my daughter started drinking from a straw cup from 7 months, and his also not crawling properly yet, so I am a little stressed about his milestones right now

I got the tommee tippee bottle with the straw. He did start off biting it but eventually got the jist. I used a normal straw and pippetted the water into his mouth so I could almost understand he needed to suck on the straw and now he is golden. He only bites it now if he is finished drinking and wants to play 😅😅

Took a day or two of constantly showing him for him to get it 😇

Make sure the straw cup you have is valve free like Tumtum or bbox because ones with a valve need extra pressure to be applied to the straw for the water to come out. Ideally you want a free flow/valve free one xx

My LO did this for ages then I saw if you get a regular straw and hold the top with your finger so there’s water in there and let your baby suck it and when you feel they are doing it release the water. I did a couple of times and now he’s a pro and doesn’t matter what bottle with straw he uses he’s gets it.
