Normal grandad behaviour

Apologies for this post, I've never had grandparents and my child does - so I dont know whats normal.

I have a toddler (2), her grandad; tickles her (randomly in random situations), kisses her (requests if when saying bye), pats bum , hugs (requests it), and whispers to her (randomly)

Unsure if this is normal. Please note I am also freshly postpartum with postpartum anxiety and all this news about paedophilia is really getting me worried.

Today made a joke when she was eating ice cream "wide mouth, come inside".

If it feels weird to you, you should listen to your gut. The comments are gross and creepy but the other stuff seem normal to me. Depending on what he is whispering I guess.

But if it feels weird, pay attention to that!

Set boundaries for your child. Even if others think it’s normal, it doesn’t feel right to you. And that’s okay. Plus, it’ll teach your daughter boundaries.

Accidentally falling asleep

So one night I was holding my newborn in the bed with my arm over him gently. He was safely in between me and my husband and all three of us fell asleep. When I woke up none of us had moved an inch. I didn’t sleep for very long, but I felt relief that my husband didn’t move either.

When I was 10 my sister was born, at one point she managed to completely topple her crib to the ground and it broke, so my mom made me keep her in my bed until she got it fixed. I used to toss and turn in my sleep, but that first night with my little sister curled up next to me, I never moved in my sleep ever again.

So I was glad that neither me or my husband moved while our baby was there. And that was just one time thing. But I am a little worried. Almost every time I breastfeed him, I pass out cold still holding him. I sleep lightly while I’m near him, but does that wear off? How do y’all stay awake while breastfeeding?

Is it okay to fall asleep, knowing I won’t drop him? I don’t want to fall asleep too deeply.

partner struggling

my partner is struggling at the moment with the fact that my 4 week old only really settles for me and stays asleep when being held by me or next to me. his paternity leave was only for 2 weeks and he does things like nappy changes and bottle feeds but he finds it hard when baby starts fussing and won’t settle. his ears are also sensitive to the newborn screech crying which doesn’t help either. he wants to be able to give me a rest and a break for longer than 20 mins and he wants to have a connection to baby like me and i’ve explained to him that baby boy sees me as an extension of him and clinginess is normal at this stage, but is there any other good advice i could give him?

When does it get easier

Baby is 10 weeks and although she is considered a good baby I still can't deal with the crying to get her to sleep at night and the constant battles of sleeping during the day. I'm getting at least 6 hours of broken sleep a night but I am broken 😅😅. I love the happy moments she is such fun but the bad moments are so bad they ruin the thought of the happy moments

Just need a rant

Feels like I'm living currently just to do everything to get her to sleep and my life revolves around figuring out how to get her to sleep next as no two times are the same
