Speaking words

My little boy is 15 months old and doesn't say any words yet. Mama and dada are said sporadically so I don't think that counts lol. He babbles, waves, points etc etc. I've read to him everyday since a newborn, we sing and I describe what I'm doing throughout the day to him. Nursery haven't raised any concerns but just wondering if this is normal

Mine has all of a sudden started saying loads and doing lots of parroting, I remember the same with my nephew. It was like an explosion all of a sudden rather than gradual x

I’ve been a bit worried about my LG regarding talking as well!

She doesn’t even say mama yet 😥 All she says is ‘uh ho’ if she drops something, ‘ummm’ if you mention food & then ‘dada’ to both her daddy & pretty much every other object 🙈 She will occasionally babble (used to do it loads) but isn’t consistent with it anymore.

She waves, claps, points/gestures & is learning how to blow kisses atm.

Like you, I read to her every day, sing & narrate everything I do….I am literally always talking to her as I find it weird for us to sit in silence! I’m not sure where I’m going wrong 🤷‍♀️

my daughters the same, she only says mummy dada and cat😂 i remember my son could say a lot more at that age, so i guess all kids are different i wouldn’t worry at all

My first didn't start saying words until around 2, he started walking early and didn't go to nursery until just before he was 2.
This one is saying multiple words already but still isn't walking although getting very close. He's been at nursery since 9 months so not sure if that's helped.
They're both developing so differently it's crazy.

My son is the exact same, doesn’t really speak but communicates in other ways☺️

My daughter is the same, she’s only just really starting to say Mama in actual relation to me and it’s still very sporadic. She doesn’t say any other proper words. She babbles constantly and understands questions/commands etc. She can communicate what she wants by pointing/nodding/shaking her head but doesn’t actually say yes or no. She start walking at just before 11 months though so I guess she’s been focusing on that

What would you consider to be normal language levels for a 1.5 year old?

My 1.5 year old has about 15 words and I’m worried this is not enough.

How do you time feeds?

For example if you say my baby feeds every 3 hours, do you time the feed from the start or the end?

Like if your baby started their feed at 12 and finished it at half past 12, would you say they're due their next feed at 3 or half past 3?

(Obviously going by baby's cues first and foremost, but I just wasn't sure how to actually time it, especially for longer feeds)
