glucose test

so i have my glucose test tmrw at 27 weeks and 5 days and kinda nervous. i’ve tried to limit sugar today (no clue if it’ll effect it but just incase) and my sugar cravings are sooo bad 😂 i had some krave cereal when i woke up and realized i told myself i wasn’t gonna have that today but forgot. i also had an apricot for some natural sugar, but that’s the extent of what ive let myself have (sugar wise) im currently drinking a diet coke and i did have some electrolytes before i spent the day outside. any tips on foods to help with cravings and what flavor drink did you get? (not sure if they’ll let me have the option but so i can keep in mind incase)

Just did mine this week. I ate a Reese’s like an hour or two before.. lol.
I got the fruit punch flavor “Glucocrush” brand, drank it in like 10 seconds, sat for an hour and passed.
It tasted like powerade, not bad at all. Don’t let the internet psych you out! You got it 💪🏼

Same with what Hannah said ^ If you want to be proactive, just avoid carbs and sugar the morning of 🤷🏻‍♀️ That’s what I did and I passed. The drink is also really not that bad.

I have my glucose at this week as well, and i'm nervous because I want to pass. I don't want to have to do the three hour test. My doctor told me that some people will fast and not eat anything but she actually doesn't recommend that. I was told if I ate a banana with maybe a little bit of peanut butter to balance it out two hours before I should be fine. My problem is, my test is mid afternoon, so I have to try to figure out what to eat and still be ok for the test.

I had my glucose test a couple weeks ago and unfortunately my glucose level was way high. I hope your comes out negative. They gave me orange flavor and the taste was okay. I have brought the numbers down by eating only salads and veggies for sometime but my cravings have been bad and I feel hungry all the time. I was avoiding sugar and sweets but I ate a a lot of carbs and I have a family history of diabetes and GD but I did not feel any symptoms of high sugar. I also felt a change in baby movements, they were very less when my sugar was high but now again they are normal. I am doing everything possible to keep my baby safe. It’s something that we can control by making changes in lifestyle and eating. So don’t worry about it

I had orange with my first and got fruit punch this time. I don't have my test until next week but it really isn't as bad as the internet makes it seem. My obgyn let's us take it home so we can have it cold. He also only draws the blood in the morning because he does like the fasting after midnight. I have heard people say to bring a protein bar or a bagel to help with after if you are sensitive to sugar.

I had the lemon lime one id honestly drink it every day if I could but I like sweet things. I ate a Jimmy dean sausage egg and cheese on a maple pancake with OJ and I still passed but I low key do not recommend that. Maybe just eat some eggs.

Anyone else looking pregnant now?

Had my first “omg are you expecting?… your belly”. I wasn’t offended at all 😂 I think I was just in denial on how big my bump is at 22 weeks! Saw my reflection in a window and realised, I was definitely in denial!

Disappointed after period

My husband and I have started trying for a second baby. It’s only been 1 month but I’ve just got my period and I’m feeling sad & disappointed.

With our first baby we were extremely lucky and conceived quickly, and I think I’ve been naive thinking it could be that quick the second time around. I had an emergency c-section with my first and now I’m feeling paranoid, thinking that the internal “damage” could be making it harder to conceive. I know I’m being silly & overthinking, and it’s only been a month…just wondering if anyone else has been in a similar boat and felt the same way?

When to start buying?

Hi all, I turn 24 weeks this Tuesday coming. I'm yet to buy anything. I've previously had 5 miscarriages and this will be our first living baby. I've been putting off buying/decorating the room as I'm scared of jinxing it, but know it will come sooner than what I think. Anyone else going through the same or have ideas?
