Child’s farm vs aveeno vs supermarket body wash and shampoo

I’m looking at baby shampoo, body wash, moisturisers etc.

I love aveeno for myself and see they do a baby range, is it any good?

I’ve also got a 20% discount for child’s farm, is it any good?

Or is Aldi/tesco/asda etc just as suitable for a newborn?

Please help a clueless first time mum!

If it’s something you care about, you can get the Yuka app. It’s free. You scan the bar codes and it tells you information about the ingredients and safety of specific products. Like I said, not everyone believes in all that or agrees with the app ratings - but it’s something you can try with pretty much all food, cosmetics, and practically any product you or your baby will use - if it’s your sort of thing.

Babies are unique so we grabbed like one or two products in different brands. Luckily my son hasn’t reacted to anything but your baby could react to one over the other so it’s trial and error

Lots of baby products contain harmful chemicals. We’ve always used Nala’s baby x

We were gifted a few different brands and quickly found child’s farm was best for our little boy as others dried his skin. As the above comment says every child is different so definitely would recommend to get a couple of samples or travel sizes to try first x

I’m glad Child’s farm is winning - I’ve been using Yuka for a long time and all of Childs farm’s products consistently score very high. Aveeno, some are excellent and some are poor. I feel like Childs farm is the only children’s brand across all product types that scored well.

Also another brand other than Childs farm is Moogoo. That brand uses like food grade ingredients, no tears formula and it explains every ingredient used in every product in brackets at the back on the ingredient s list and justifies why it has been used.

Child’s farm was good for us, again we use Yuka. I have used certain aveeno bath products for the kids too which have scored highly. Budget option is boots own, I’ve just recently bought their body wash for my kids as it scored highly and I think it was only like £1.50. I’ve used Sanex before as one of them rated quite highly and smelt nice! It really is just personal preference - I’m lucky my kids don’t have sensitive skin so I just get what I want really

Aveeno for sure! I’ve used it since LO was a newborn and tried Johnson’s which just dried her skin out. We use Childs farm for swimming :) x

Sleep regression?

Baby has started screaming at night everytime I put him down in his next to me and won’t stop unless I’m cuddling him. Is this the sleep regression? Anyone else experiencing it?

Someone just kissed my baby’s face

My FIL just kissed my baby’s face. It’s the 4th time he’s seen my baby, so I didn’t think to list out all the rules again. We got him to stop, but I’m freaking out. I felt like I was having a panic attack ( I feel better now but I’m still really worried about my baby). I contacted my pediatricians office, but they are closed so I won’t hear back until tomorrow. My husband told me that I’m over reacting … I don’t know if anyone has had this happen to them? Am I overreacting?

Sleep help

Could I ask how do you get your LO down for a nap or for bed?

My first was really difficult having to rock/ shush for every nap/sleep til around 4 months where my second is better she still isn’t 100% settled.

At the minute we are using a dummy (only last few days) which is really helping for sleep, but yesterday she had a wake window for 4 hours as nothing would work and then it took an hour to settle her as she was obvs over tired.

Just feel like we’re doing something wrong as some friends say they’d just put their LO down and they’d drop off 🫠

Help- desperate!

Long story short, I am 5 days pp and have been readmitted into hospital due to baby being dehydrated and losing too much weight because she's not feeding/latching well. We have a feeding plan in place, I started pumping lots today and things are getting marginally better.
HOWEVER, due to having to pump and express a lot, I am now having insane uterine contractions (i.e. unbearable agony, the whole ward heard me screaming in pain). I need to keep feeding my baby breast milk but I cannot go through this pain anymore.
I am on morphine, codeine, paracetamol and ibuprofen and it's still agony.
I can supplement with formula and my partner has said he will do the next feed solely with formula so I can get some rest, but in the long run, she needs to get on the boob or take expressed milk as much as poss over the coming days if we want to breastfeed (and we do).

How can I manage this pain?
Help plz I'm desperate!

Struggling with heat

I live in a flat and struggling to keep it cool. I have all windows and curtains shut with fans and it does help a little. But my 9 week old girl just wants to be held 24/7 and when I try and put her down due to her sweating and heat rush she wakes back up again. I try and keep her in a nappy but she doesn’t like that for too long. So I just put a vest on but again only last for 10 mins. So have to but her in something else like a jump suit or at night a onesie. Anyone else struggling or is my little girl just weird as my little boy wasn’t as bad.

Water to infant?

We are currently having a horrible heat wave and my partners mum suggested we give my 3 month old water? Personally I don’t want to as I didn’t think they were supposed to at the age, but she insists only a little amount to “quench” his thirst. We combination feed but more breast than formula and I believe that breast milk has water in it? Correct me if I’m wrong. Anyways should i be giving him like a tea spoon of water for hydration, especially in 30 degree heat? Or is milk enough on its own?
