Some days you just can’t win 🥴
Tell me some reasons your toddlers had a tantrum so I feel better about cutting her banana up wrong 😅

So what I can do is explain why that could cause a tantrum. So to them they have a idea in mind on how they are going to have the deal situation (for example they were expecting a red cup but got a yellow) to us it’s a “not that big of a deal” but to them and their underdeveloped connectors in their brain it’s a major issue and triggers their brain to basically go into meltdown mode. To them it’s a major deal.

So a comparison- to you it’s like your car (I dunno if you drive but if you don’t just imagine it) breaking down in the middle of nowhere and your phone is dead. It’s a major deal and causes anxiety. That’s the same to them but clearing up the banana. It’s nothing you’re doing wrong at all, it’s just how their brain is trying to process. It’s completely normal.

Sometimes understanding why helps so you know you’re not doing anything wrong xx

My son had a tantrum yesterday because I cut his sandwich in to small strips, just as I have the last few days since dental surgery, but he wanted a big boy toddler sandwich 😅 it definitely happens to us all

Sleep regression?

Baby has started screaming at night everytime I put him down in his next to me and won’t stop unless I’m cuddling him. Is this the sleep regression? Anyone else experiencing it?

Someone just kissed my baby’s face

My FIL just kissed my baby’s face. It’s the 4th time he’s seen my baby, so I didn’t think to list out all the rules again. We got him to stop, but I’m freaking out. I felt like I was having a panic attack ( I feel better now but I’m still really worried about my baby). I contacted my pediatricians office, but they are closed so I won’t hear back until tomorrow. My husband told me that I’m over reacting … I don’t know if anyone has had this happen to them? Am I overreacting?

Sleep help

Could I ask how do you get your LO down for a nap or for bed?

My first was really difficult having to rock/ shush for every nap/sleep til around 4 months where my second is better she still isn’t 100% settled.

At the minute we are using a dummy (only last few days) which is really helping for sleep, but yesterday she had a wake window for 4 hours as nothing would work and then it took an hour to settle her as she was obvs over tired.

Just feel like we’re doing something wrong as some friends say they’d just put their LO down and they’d drop off 🫠

Help- desperate!

Long story short, I am 5 days pp and have been readmitted into hospital due to baby being dehydrated and losing too much weight because she's not feeding/latching well. We have a feeding plan in place, I started pumping lots today and things are getting marginally better.
HOWEVER, due to having to pump and express a lot, I am now having insane uterine contractions (i.e. unbearable agony, the whole ward heard me screaming in pain). I need to keep feeding my baby breast milk but I cannot go through this pain anymore.
I am on morphine, codeine, paracetamol and ibuprofen and it's still agony.
I can supplement with formula and my partner has said he will do the next feed solely with formula so I can get some rest, but in the long run, she needs to get on the boob or take expressed milk as much as poss over the coming days if we want to breastfeed (and we do).

How can I manage this pain?
Help plz I'm desperate!

Struggling with heat

I live in a flat and struggling to keep it cool. I have all windows and curtains shut with fans and it does help a little. But my 9 week old girl just wants to be held 24/7 and when I try and put her down due to her sweating and heat rush she wakes back up again. I try and keep her in a nappy but she doesn’t like that for too long. So I just put a vest on but again only last for 10 mins. So have to but her in something else like a jump suit or at night a onesie. Anyone else struggling or is my little girl just weird as my little boy wasn’t as bad.

Water to infant?

We are currently having a horrible heat wave and my partners mum suggested we give my 3 month old water? Personally I don’t want to as I didn’t think they were supposed to at the age, but she insists only a little amount to “quench” his thirst. We combination feed but more breast than formula and I believe that breast milk has water in it? Correct me if I’m wrong. Anyways should i be giving him like a tea spoon of water for hydration, especially in 30 degree heat? Or is milk enough on its own?
