I'm 19 weeks pregnant and since week 6 I've been really sick. I've lost just over 2 stone in those 19 weeks. The consultant I'm under knows this and says it's ok. She's given me some anti sickness tablets which are ok through the day but I can be sick 4/5 times in a morning before I get chance to take one.
Does anyone have any advice or things to help with sickness? I need to add I also have gestational diabetes so some of the dry snacks aren't recommended 😔

Look up hyperemesis gravidarum, bring this to their attention and don’t lay off if they dismiss it. I almost died from having 2 doctors gaslight me into thinking this sort of “morning sickness“ was normal. I tried EVERYTHING but It wasn’t until I was hospitalized for the 3rd time someone said something. I had to stay for a week on fluids and a special diet until they figured out what will work for me to kind of function. Self advocating is hard so if you need, bring someone with you to the doctor to help you. Good luck mama.

My mum had HG with all 3 of her pregnancies and to stop herself getting dehydrated she would drink one sip of flat coke every couple of minutes or so when she needed a drink. She said this meant she kept it down and got electrolytes from it too. Same with nibbling crackers, one mouthful at a time every few minutes. She said it was tedious but just helped stuff stay down x

I had severe HG and couldn’t even keep water down I had to be hospitalised as was very dehydrated but I found that the anti sickness IV drip I received really helped a lot for a few days even after being discharged. I’d say go to the hospital rather than the GP if you haven’t already. Good luck mama you got this!!
