Yesterday I had my 16 week appointment and got referred MFM because my blood pressure was 148/76 at the beginning and then 137/72 towards the end but I had been crying. When I’m at home, have a doctors visit unrelated to pregnancy, or using the pharmacy BP cuff my blood pressure is always normal. This whole last week my top number never went over 118 and my button number is always fine. My doctor wanted to put me on blood pressure medication but I declined because I truly don’t believe I have high blood pressure and that I’m just having anxiety at appointments. I went to Meijer after my appointment I checked my BP it’s was 122/76. I bought another BP cuff to compare to my other. Also blood work and urine is fine and no headaches or vision changes

White coat syndrome is a thing with blood pressure. Means the stress of being around the medical professional or in that environment puts it up. They've got to be safe and cover themselves. But if its reading okay the rest of the time you should be okay. Would recommend taking your own regularly at different times of day to make sure you aren't getting spikes at certain times though. Some fluctuation is normal. Record them and then you can show them to the health care professional next time :)
