How do you manage your young kids when you are sick?

Im finding im not able to get rid of colds and viruses anymore, perhaps due to lack of rest. When I am unwell I still have to take my 22 month old boy outside to play and walk and run for much of the day. Then in the evening it's immediately into cooking, cleaning up, coping with his many meltdowns and strops, bath time (+tantrum), pyjamas (another tantrum) and playing until he is tired....
I fall into bed around 10:30pm after the closing shift and then up a couple times every night with him as well...
I can feel my body crying fir a rest. Is this just motherhood?

I don’t think it’s just motherhood! I think it’s what happens when you’re expected to keep going even when your body is asking you to stop. Parenting a toddler while sick and no one around to help is survival mode. The TV gets used more, meals become simple, the house stays messy, and if you have anyone who can take your little one for even an hour, say yes. Your son doesn’t need a perfect day he needs a mum who gets the chance to recover too. Stay strong!

I was unwell Monday and Tuesday this week. I just went to bed as soon as my kid was asleep (8pm) and napped when he napped. And we put on a movie at some point. The rest can wait.

Ohhhh, I thought it was just me. I've been sick for over a year now and can never fully recover from colds or viruses anymore. I recently started taking multivitamin and mineral tablets, drinking protein and collagen powder, and a few other things, and I've been feeling better—not as sick as before. So... hope that helps!

I throw on the TV and give screen time to be able to recover. If he doesn't go outside to play he'll be fine and survive a few days without but you need to prioritize yourself and getting better.

Take some vitamins, drink more fluids, and eat soups to bring back your energy. I also make sure to air out my house and disinfect where we constantly are so the germs don't have a chance to stay alive long
