We chose a first name for our 2nd son and yes granted it is very uncommon, but it's what my husband and I agreed on and loved. My husband is half British and half Jamaican, so the name is in honor of that. We chose the name Babatunde, also before we even chose that name our first son kept pointing to my belly saying "Baba". When I told family/friends I got some "LOL's" or "what a mouthful". I'm kind of used to this anyway because with our first son people STILL say his name wrong even though it's not hard at all and these people are family and his own doctor 🤦🏼♀️ I remember being at a baby group and a Mum asked if my son was Japanese because of the "weird name"... His name is Kaizen (pronounced Kaizen (like sky) and Zen (as in Zenn garden). He consistently gets called "keyzone" "keyzen" "kozen" half the time I know it's just ignorance. But all this opened my eyes even more to how inept or ignorant people are when it comes to other cultures or ethnicity. Obviously I'm extra aware especially with the way the UK is going. Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this?
