I’m not asking if you send photos to family and friends, I’m talking about posting pictures and videos of them online. Whether your account is private or not. (Because, let’s be honest, even private accounts aren’t truly private.)
If yes, why?
If no, why not?

My accounts have always been private, even before she was born.. when she was born I was in a ‘bubble’, I wanted to show everyone else how beautiful she is and share milestones/cute moments.. but then something honestly clicked overnight, I started thinking about it more in depth (as you said, private accounts aren’t truly private) and I deleted 95% of my posts that show her face, removed a lot of people from social media (people I probably wouldn’t say hello to in the street) and I haven’t posted a photo showing her face since, she’s getting older & she’s getting more defining features.. i send pics & videos to family and they all know (even in before I made the decision myself) not to post photos of her/her face without talking to me about it first x

No I don’t post my daughter at all because private or not, not everyone has good intentions and evil eye is real! It’s for there safety

Aside from the fact that nothing posted on the internet is truly private or safe, we also didn't love the idea of our daughter having an entire online presence outside of her control before she even has the capacity to understand what that means. Neither of us are big on social media, I've shared a couple of back of the head pictures so I can have her in my Facebook profile picture lol but otherwise she doesn't have an online presence and I'm very happy with that.

You’ll never see my children’s faces online. And I’m very selective over who gets sent photos. Friends think I’m mad but unless you’ve worked with children that have been subjected to different types of abuse, which u fortunately I see at work all too often, it’s just not worth it to put them at risk. And now AI is readily available I wouldn’t risk it for anything.

We decided if any pictures would be posted that we wouldn't show her face and nothing where she's not dressed either as you don't know who's online
