This is so trivial but it got me so annoying!
Today my son turned 3! We spent the morning baking a cake to have after dinner + bring to nursery tomorrow. I'd let him know a few days earlier that we were going to bake a cake.
(And for additional context, in the past he's made comments about how sad it is that I bought a cake for my dad's birthday when I could have baked him a cake instead).
In the evening, he came home with a little supermarket cake to have after dinner because "he remembers past experiences" with baking my son's cakes and he wanted to make sure he gets "decent cake" or something like that. He's referring to when I tried to make an allergen-free cake for nursery last year, which was not a cake really, more like a very oily, very vegan-tasting giant biscuit. That was very much not a normal cake, allergen-free / vegan baking is its own thing and not everyone is good at it!
So trivial but also insensitive / invalidating to me and potentially to little guy? He could have let us know beforehand at least!
Oh well. The supermarket cake was alright though.

I mean bit of an ass move but hey it's cake, can never have too much!
I don't think nurseries will accept any home baked goods these days...I know my son's had to be a very specific cake
