5 weeks postpartum I still look 20 weeks pregnant. Starting to hate my body.

I gained 24kg (over 50lbs) in pregnancy, thanks to pre-eclampsia. Most of that was gained in the 3rd trimester 🫠

Magically, I lost 15kg in just the couple of days after birth (ridiculous water retention!).

Now I gave birth 5 weeks ago and I look 20 WEEKS PREGNANT. Stretch marks appeared on my stomach and thighs out of NOWHERE.

I’m still between 9-10kg over my pre-pregnancy weight. All of which is on my stomach and thighs.
I lost 0 further weight in these 5 weeks since birth, only the initial 15-ish kg.

I was relatively skinny before pregnancy, and now I look like a permanently pregnant woman.

I don’t know how I’ll get my stomach to go down anywhere near to what it used to be - being so busy with the baby and my muscles separating.

All I have is a couple of maternity dresses to hide my ā€œbumpā€. But I’m starting to hate going outside, especially introducing myself to people who never met me before, because I look (yes I’m gonna say it) fat.

I know I’m not alone and I shouldn’t be harsh on myself, but this is brutal. And I hate when my husband sees me naked.

This is totally normal even if you feel bad, don’t hate on yourself you literally just made the most amazing person you will ever know.

How I lost the weight after my second pregnancy was safe calorie counting after 6 weeks postpartum

I did follow an amazing group on Facebook who worked out my safe deficit ( maintained calories because I was breast feeding) but this was done on my height, weight, age and activity level and the fact I was postpartum

Iv now lost over 5 stone and I’m 17 months pp.

Just give yourself time and grace xxx

I felt exactly the same as you! I'm now 3.5 months postpartum and honestly my stomach has gone down so much in the last month. It's so hard but it does just take time, rest as much as you can at the beginning and then I found just gentle walks and very light core work (after 6weeks) worked for me and I've built it up from there. In still about 10/11kg heavier than my pre-pregnancy weight and have a belly but it is slowly going down. Coco butter or coconut oil is quite good for stretch marks as well. I rub it into my stomach after a shower and that has helped them fade a bit

I am 4 years in. My OBGYN said it takes as long as it takes. Everyone's body is different. But, I get how you feel. I hope this is the year I get rid of the baby weight 😩

God I’m 7 months pp but due to having retained placenta for 3-4 month after I had my boy I don’t seem to have been able to recover and I am still around 20kg!!! heavier than I was post pregnancy 😭😭 have no clothes that fit because all my weight is on my belly! Worst feeling ever! X

GD test

I am 32, pregnant with 2nd child and not overweight, whilst not tiny, I am fit and healthy. I have been referred for a GD test as assuming because my BMI is higher, although always has been due to exercise amount and muscle. I'm a size 10/12 dress maximum.

I am really not wanting to do it, do you think it is necessary?

Sooo has anyone started to nest yet? Especially with 2 or more children? This is my 3rd I’m due end of November I’ll be 20 weeks this upcoming week.

I want to start nesting now… but I still have so long to go haha. I also have two other children so I don’t really need to buy a ton of things before baby comes except like replace so things that broke or whatever with the others. It’s also been 3 years since I had a baby. So I’m just curious if anyone has started yet or when they plan to. And if you have started what kinds of things have you done?

Still not feeling my baby

I am 21 weeks today. I have an anterior placenta, and I can't feel my baby yet. It makes me nervous even though I have read that it is normal for it to take longer to feel your baby as a first-time mom and with an anterior placenta. Is anyone else still not feeling anything? It is exciting, though, to finally have more weeks behind me than there are to go in this prenancy!

Does this happen to you?

I’m 31 weeks pregnant, it’s hot, and sweaty. And lately yes I do crave food sometimes and then out of nowhere..food just does not look or sound good. I do have a snack of course but like eating a meal..doesn’t sound appetizing.
