Vbac

Really wanting to do a Vaginal birth after having my C section 4 years ago..
Had an appointment yesterday explaining the pros and cons to both but I’m feeling really stuck with making a decision. I will probably go for an epidural as well which can also slow down labour..
When I had my first baby I had no choice but to do C section where as now the ball is in my court…

I am in exactly the same boat! My son was breech. I am going for the VBAC

I’m also hoping for a vbac - going out of guidance though and hoping to do it in the midwife unit. You can always change your mind - I don’t have my vbac clinic appointment until 33 weeks - so you have plenty of time to see how you feel over the next couple of months

I’m in the same boat, I really had my heart set on a vbac. I had an appointment a few weeks ago where the consultant basically said they want to do a planned c section at 39 weeks. At first I was against it and wanted to try and push to letting me go 40 weeks to see if I labour naturally as my first emergency c section wasn’t due to failure to progress. But with all the news around poor maternity care I’m thinking to stick with the plan they’ve put in place just out of pure fear of what could happen if we go down the other route..which isn’t great but that’s where I’m at now! I doubt that’s helped you at all but just in case you wanted someone else’s thought process to compare! X

I'm planning a vbac in the birth centre. My first was an elective due to maternal health complications, so I feel confident to go ahead with vaginal delivery if those same issues don't come up!

What is it that puts you off vaginal birth?

I’m hoping for a Vbac too. Had an emergency C Section over 5 years ago (meconium in my waters as they broke) and so far I’ve only been supported with it by my midwife & my consultant last week. As long as baby stays healthy I’ll be refusing any interventions and hope for a spontaneous labour post 40 weeks.
