I was really hoping for a natural birth but went for a scan at 37 weeks and he’s estimated to be 8.5lbs currently. They said if I carry on to 40 weeks, he’ll be over 11lbs. They’ve talking about induction and c- section but I didn’t want either but I also know if I decline, he’s probably going to be too big to push out naturally anyway. I’m at a loss here 😩

Hi, it is truly up to you. My baby was estimated 8.5lbs at 46 weeks scan and I am booked in for induction 24th and I will be going for it as I am struggling to walk and move around.
I have read both Positive and negative feedback but induction just appears a bit more planned for me. I've learnt that sometimes it's not always going to be as we expected. Plus induction stories at my hospital have mostly been positive!

Hello I had 10lb 8.5oz and 10lb 3.5oz came out fine naturally with the gas and air they were also my easiest births. Growth scans can be in accurate although I believe in my case they are correct judging by my other babies and weight. I was induced early in 2023 for “big baby” and regret it. It ended in an emergency section. I had stated this year I didn’t want to be induced solely to having a large baby and they agreed that would be fine however the baby is transverse so looks like induction or section is on the cards for sure anyway!
Are you a tiny woman? For me I am tall and broad as is my husband, u was a huge baby, my older teens are now all tall my 19 year old is 6ft 3 my 16 yr old is 6ft for me it would be strange for someone like me not to grown large babies but I totally get if you are a 5ft size 8 lady it must be scary the thought of pushing out a big one. I didn’t tear or cut and only used gas and it was so fine z

I know it’s not always the case but at 36 week scan my daughter was estimated at 8 pounds 10, so they booked an induction at 39 weeks, however she was born at 37 weeks weighing 6 pound 11!
Also, my friend had a baby who was 12 pounds 3 I believe, vaginal, gas and air.
Are you open to pain relief for a vaginal birth?
I had an emergency c section with my littlest, and recovery was difficult and pain was a lot I won’t lie, but she’s 7 weeks now and I’ve recovered great and it wouldn’t put me off having a scheduled c-section in the future x
