Question

Would you allow your child’s father to see his child (8 months old) if he doesn’t provide for the child but provides for the older two kids (10 years old and 6 years old) that he has with another woman?

He only comes once a week. But not providing feels like clear neglect to me.

This is where it’s hard. It’s in the best interest of the child, is he a good father but a lousy co parent? Definitely try to get child maintenance if he’s not stepping up.

It’s hard but if he wants to see the child you do have to let him if he’s not abusive or dangerous. If he’s not providing then put him on child maintenance. I told my girls dad he needs to put £50 in her bank account each month for when she’s older or I’ll put him on maintenance. It’s not much but will add up over time for her and I get the child benefit etc to help pay for her now xx

I’m in the same situation mine comes once a month I ended up doing child maintenance because he sees his others more and I gives more, it’s fair

Him visiting once a week is good enough. His presence with his child will create a bond. Its not about money. He doesnt need to buy his love with money.

Forget comparing how he is with his other kids to someone else.

Enjoy life having full custody of your child, and provide for her the best way you can.
