RSV Vaccine
Hello!
Has anyone had the RSV vaccine whilst pregnant?
I’ve had two babies before and never been offered the vaccine, I think it’s fairly new and wondered what mums here think to the vaccine given some of its side effects.
I’ll be expecting a baby in autumn so think it’s probably important to have it but I’m a bit unsure!
Any thoughts or advice welcome, thank you!

Yes and I think it’s essential. I’ve worked in child are and seen so many babies have RSV. Some didn’t survive. I got it with both pregnancies so it’s odd you were never offered it. If you can, get it this time. It’ll save your baby one shot when they’re born
I didn’t have any side effects. They probably can happen through. Your doctors will explain everything beforehand

I had the RSV vaccine (my boy was born end of April) I work in healthcare so RSV can be around in my work environment quite often and it can be very dangerous for babies.
Ultimately it’s your choice, I had no side effects other than an achy arm (which I always get with flu jab anyway, so was expecting it)
Yeah I had it barely noticed anything. It’s so important to get it im so glad it’s available on the nhs now! My friend almost lost her twin babies when they caught it after birth in the first 12 weeks. It was so scary and so serious and vaccinating pregnant moms can help reduce that risk of serious illness and death significantly.
