Have you tried Mineral based sunscreen? Coconut oil is really good for skin healing, there are other things like essential oils you can use as well.

I use rash guards to avoid having to apply sunscreen altogether. It’s not healthy for our skin. Even mineral sunscreens

Can you try a natural suncream? I know they’re so expensive but there’s so many chemicals in the generic ones. My boys have excema so I’m super wary. Green people, badger, shade, moogoo are all a better option 🙂

Id avoid sunscreen but also be careful not to let him burn. Tubby todd ointment is great for clearing eczema and also look into a good probiotic and SLOWLY introduce fermented food into his diet. Eczema is often related to a dysregulate gut microbiome.

I found that the sun cleared up my eczema whenever I didn’t put suncream on the flare up and never stayed out long enough for it to burn. It’s really difficult but I would look at diet and potentially any allergies such as hayfever as that is the bane of my existence and the cause of all of my flare ups. I’d also look into what body wash you are using on him as even the natural ones and the ones like Sanex which are targeted towards eczema actually make it worse x

Hi Kiera my son suffers from severe eczema and we use a suncream called Altruist which we have found to work well, I sought support from Eczema Outreach Support UK and it seems lots of parents were using that one xx we have found that we need to administer a greasy emollient on him 4-5 times a day and then apply suncream about half an hour after this to keep his skin hydrated xx
