Age 4 ADHD
Hello! Just looking for some advice (UK based) .. I’m more than certain my 3 (nearly 4yr old) has ADHD. She is due to start school in September. I have made her teacher aware as I believe she masks currently at pre school..
I’ve heard I cant go to the GP until age 6.. is this correct? What can I do to get the ball rolling for a diagnosis & additional school support?

You can go to the gp sooner but the paediatrician may refuse the referral, we were referred to paediatrics for possible autism when my son was 16m (usual age of 3) but they refused the referral and sent us for a hearing test instead. If you have a family hub local to you then i would go there they tend to have regular play groups and the staff (at least in mine) are able to help with things like this and refer places if needed x
I would go to her pediatrician, fill out adhd paperwork, see if u wanna do counseling or meds , I put my 4 year old and meds , it’s been the first week , so far so good he has been sleeping at 10 pm rather than 12 or 1 pm , he is still active just not over the place , he can stick to one thing , he is on methylphenidate half of 5 mg rn , we tryed mood gummies made him irritated and upset but every child is different
