As a first time mum, im struggling to get out the house as I dont want baby to cry. I keep seeing people out shopping or coffee dates etc but the most weve managed are walks in the park close to home. It feels so difficult getting out when baby is either unsettled or constantly needing changed or fed. Sometimes baby falls asleep on a walk but more times lately he just wails and i nothing can console him so we rush home. Baby is 7 weeks and I just dont know how we get there?

I’m a ftm too and was nervous, still nervous, about the same thing. I found it helps to go to baby friendly places like a baby class or lactation support group to start off with.

Personally I think 7 weeks is still too young, if you are going out with baby alone, a 30 minutes outing is a success.
They'll get better and easier. Probably another month or two

I felt the same but I realized it’s okay if life is slow for a bit longer. My baby is 6 weeks now and he’s. Having a lot of gas these days and he gets really fussy I. The evenings. I think it’s fine two wait until the challenging part has settled down. And then that 4 month sleep regression is going to hit and I’m sure I’ll barely be out around that time too. I’m taking it easy on us

The more you do the easier it gets! Is there anyone who can join you to get your confidence up? Don’t worry about the baby crying, they all do it and most people sympathise. Maybe just try getting a takeaway coffee to begin with, then build up? You’re doing a fab job. My little one is 2 now but I remember I felt the same when she was that little xx

Start with something small. And we are more worried about our babies crying than anyone else. No one really cares is what I've learned!

If it’s really warm out it could be that they feel too warm. Have you tried taking baby to a coffee shop near by or store with a carrier my daughter was great in the baby wrap or carrier when we were out and about. As long as she was close we would only cry when hungry and I would pack a smaller diaper bag with the essentials incase she needed a change

I took my little guy out at 2 weeks old to see Christmas lights in the city but we didn't stay out long. It was cold and he was sleeping mostly. But yes with them being young you can't stay out long because they still need to be fed every two to three hours and then you have to deal with changing them (I have had to change my little guy with my hatchback trunk open) and burping them (that can get messy too). I would find someone to come with you on your walks or get you a carrier. Those can be real comfortable for them when used correctly and they can sleep in them.
