Baby not draining breast
So my baby boy is three weeks today and had his tongue tie released yesterday. I was told to bring him to the breast every 2-3 hours which is fine. He is latching ok not to much pain and I can see that he is drinking and pulling milk. However he is not draining my breast at all and because I exclusively pumped I know how much my breast tends to produce and how much mls he tends to drink which is roughly the same amount so I’m now worried that if he’s not draining the breast his not getting enough milk. (He does pull of himself) and then also that I’m still having to constantly pump after feeding for at least an hour each time which is a lot of work and the reason why I wanted to get his tongue tie corrected to begin with.
I know it’s early days but really hoping I don’t have to go on like this as it’s not feasible for us as I also have a toddler

If he's having effective milk transfer, pulling off at the end of a feed on his own, and content between feeds, then he's eating enough. He's also just had a procedure that is going to cause a bit of pain, and may be eating less than usual. The amount he will eat changes as well day to day. I would keep exclusively latching, there's no need to pump (and pumping for an hour is a really long time anyway) as your body will match his needs. Draining the breast is a misnomer, your breasts are never empty as they are constantly producing milk from your blood flowing through them. By pumping that much after feeding you are potentially going to create an oversupply which can be hard to deal with.
