C section mums with heavy babies!

How are we coping?! My baby was born at 60cm long and nearly 9lbs, he’s only 2 weeks old but I’m really struggling with being so soon into recovery and also carrying, feeding and putting him to sleep. I have felt really sick the last two days with lots of tummy pain and I’m worried it’s because I’m doing too much :( even feeding him puts pressure on my tummy and twisting to put him in and out his crib. My partner is amazing, but I am obviously holding the baby a lot and I want to but I’m just worried that it’s going to impact my recovery, is anyone feeling the same?!

Have you tried putting a pillow on your scar / stomach area during feeding / holding? Could you move the crib slightly away and then you are able to stand to put him in vs twisting in and out of bed to put him in. Not got a 9lb baby but my twins combined weight is 9lb odd so I’ve had to adjust to moving with that weight after a section x

I had a 9lb 3oz c section boy 2 weeks ago. The healing can be a pain but moving around and airing the scar area will help with the healing. Ensuring your keeping on top of eating and drinking also helps with healing I find a high iron & fibre diet really helps and chewing gum to resettle your digestive system it helps your body keep it active and help it settle back into place.

With the holding them I suggest a feeding pillow or repurposed your pregnancy pillow to support them during feeds and using pillows under your arms when holding to support holding him without resting them on your abdomen.

Remember that in general your body needs at least 12 months just to recovery from pregnancy not just if you had a c section. Take each day as it comes and try to stay on top of your pain meds.

Hope this helps and enjoy the moments when you can and cry if you need to it’s okay to need a moment!

Did anybody else see the video of the man who took his newborn baby from the hospital?

So he took his newborn baby from the hospital and he's claiming that it's his baby he should be able to take his baby. So from the video the mom basically told him she didn't want him to take the baby to his house because they had had a domestic abuse situation and he said it doesn't matter because I'm her father so I'm taking her. There are people who are debating about this and are saying that a father should have a right to take their baby even if it is a newborn and then there are people who are saying that a newborn should be with their mother and they can work that out later but the newborn should be with their mother first. What do you think?

How did your 3rd csection go?

I'm pregnant with my 3rd baby..I have had 2 previous csection. 1 elective to my sleeping baby and 1 emergency for my first. I have to get a 3rd as my doctor has told me and that's fine as I would want one but I've just heard horror stories as you shouldn't go past 3. I would love the option of a another baby if it came to it but I'd be scared of another csection with more risks.

When did your first come?

Hi! I know people always say the first comes late, but my husband was 3 weeks early and just over 10lbs and I was over a week early and just under 9lbs, and our baby I measuring ahead by a few weeks (I know the 15% margin of error lol), so I’m trying to just have us prepared by November 1 since we’re due 12/3.

Has anyone here experienced having their first coming early just because they were “ready” to come out sooner? Inductions count, but I told my OB I only want one if I absolutely have to do it.

Just trying to be practical here and not feel crazy for wanting to have everything done an entire month before the due date including packed hospital bags and the car seat in the car 😅

Rolling

Is anyone's baby still not rolling? Mine seems to try when on her side but cant seem to make it. She is very strong lifting her head when doing tummy time. Is there anything you can do to help them or should I leave her to do it in her own time? First time mum so just looking for others experiences 🙂 she is also teasing us with laughs she smiles from ear to ear but has done a tiny laugh maybe 3 times
