Are there such things as an “inappropriate” name for a baby?

The one that comes to mind are names not from one’s culture/ ethnic names when you don’t pertain to that group.

Also came across someone that named their child “Nazy” and I can easily see the kid being called “Nazi” at school 😔

I think there can definitely be wrong names. And I agree that naming your child something from a culture completely opposite to yours can be problematic. Depends on if you’ve done the work to know the name origin etc.

People naming their child random things will never sit right with me. I’m not going to name my kid toothbrush. I have known of a child name Kar because his parents met on the same pit crew. Ridiculous to me. But to each their own.

I think there is. I think you need to think about the child now and the future. You don’t want to name a child something that’s cute or whatever now but when they get older and have a job that it would look down upon or not be professional at all. Or any names that a racial names or cuss words or anything like that.

Yes there are, but to me the problem really lies with people who can't just be normal about a name being different. If someone is named something you don't agree with why say anything at all or treat them differently? They can't control what they were named and it's so simple just to be cool about it.

But some people are downright nasty about appropriate names they just simply dislike. I received so many rude comments over "Garfield" for my son lol. There's no winning IMO, name your child what you want to and keep their best interest in mind.

That's why names can be rejected at registration in the UK based on the officers judgement.
