Not able to breastfeed - anyone else doing this?

I’m not able to breastfeed and I expressing for 80-90% of feeds and then using formula when out or during the early hours when I’m too tired to pump. It’s only been 3 weeks and I’m curious to know if anyone is doing this or similar? Midwives have told me I’m working hard but it might not be sustainable long term.

Me 👋 waiting for an ENT appointment next week to see if baby has a tongue tie, as she won’t latch, and pumping until then. Pumping makes me miserableeee and I won’t be carrying on long term. Depends how it makes you feel as to whether it’s sustainable - plenty of women in America exclusively pump due to poor maternity leave provisions. There is a good Reddit community if you want to read others’ experiences!

I’m the same here - pumping is miserable but I find that spending skin-to-skin time with my son every morning helps with use of nipple shield. He starts to get it with latching although he’s been used to the fast-flow bottle for the past 3 weeks. I would say keep going for a couple more weeks with expressing breast milk and bottle these as you gradually move quantities from the bottle to breast. It’s not going to be easy as I’m going through it right now.

Hey, I've struggled to breastfeed and have been pumping a lot too (it was the exactsame with ny first baby too). Is it that your baby isnt latching, or another reason altogether?
Have you tried giving some or all of a bottle and then trying them on the boob afterwards, when they're feeling full and content?

Hi mums,

I am wondering on your baby’s age and their current milestones?

My little one is now 7 months old and still can only roll that’s it.

Brushing teeth at night?

For those whose babies have teeth - how are you brushing their teeth at night? My baby still falls asleep on the bottle so I've been doing his final brush before that, but thinking I need to figure out how to brush his teeth post bottle, even if he's asleep

Travel pram recommendations

Hey ladies. Please give me travel pram recommendations. I've heard of Bugaboo butterfly and Joolz Aer 2(is that right?). Not actually travelling until December but want something to take baby boy in from when he starts nursery in September anyway.

Baby bouncer opinions?

Hey mamis! I’m looking to buy a baby bouncer and I saw the Baby Bjorn one but unfortunately is a little outside my budget. Does anyone know about a baby bouncer that’s good, can carry a 2month old 10pounds almost 11 pounds and is safe?
