Maternity triage / midwife pushback

If feel like every time I’ve called they just push back, I called today after my sister who is a nurse told me contact the maternity so that they could monitor my blood pressure as I put up 1.6kg in 6days and that’s quite a lot for me compare to my normal weight gain so far as I’ve put 12kg total since pregnant (now 36+5).

So I called and the person I got on the phone said they ignore weight gain completely as it’s not an indicator of anything, she didn’t ask me about any other symptoms either and when I said if I was to put up another 1kg in 3 days should I worry, she said no they don’t need to know about it…

They always said to call if we have questions or worries but then every time I’ve called they don’t want to hear about it.

Also baby is already estimated to be 80th percentile before that weight intake.

Not sure what I’m looking for with this post, but knowing that they never want to hear about anything makes me anxious as the pregnancy progresses

I have put on 26kg so far, started at 61 and currently 87. I put on the same with my first and it had all gone within 12 weeks of her being born. Unless you have swelling or high blood pressure as well, weight gain isn't a cause for concern by itself x

My baby girl is here!

She arrived yesterday, 15th August 2026 via c-section due to baby being breech. It was an amazing experience from start to finish. Good luck to all the rest of you that is going to have an August 2026 baby! Also thank you to everyone that has commented, gave me advice on previous posts that I've put on here..

How do you know when the right time is for the 2nd baby?

I’m 9.5 months pp (emergency c section) & will turn 35 in a few days. I’ve always wanted to my baby to have a sibling. We’re still surviving each day 😂 when to start trying? Im thinking maybe soon but also is it too soon? Will having 2 under 2 be really hard? Anyone willing to share their experiences/thoughts?

How did you announce your pregnancy?

I’m looking for cute ideas! This is my last pregnancy, and I want to make the announcement in a cute, creative way that I can remember. My first one wasn’t well thought out, and I kept my second baby secret until the day he was born lol. So I want to remember this one. Give me your ideas. 💖💙
