Am I in the wrong?
My stepson(13) and I have a great relationship! RANTING TIME:
Yesterday I had an unexpected appointment that I forgot about for my two younger kiddos and I asked my stepson(13) to watch my oldest daughter(4) and he said “yes I will watch her” I got home two hours later and I walked in my door holding my two year olds hand and carrying my 6 month old in his car seat and he is passed out on my couch!! Also my daughter is upstairs in her room playing with a glass cup that had vinegar, soap, and sugar I made for the fruit flies( we get them bad in the summer) and had it all over her dresser after I just just cleaned her room top to bottom!! Imagine how livid I was!! Am I an asshole for strictly and sternly telling him what he did wrong? He acted like he did nothing wrong when I told him what he did wrong 😑.

Not an asshole. Yes, he is 13 and not yet very responsible BUT this is a learning age and correcting behavior is a must to raise decent humans let alone “men” I think as long as you approached it in a “this was not what we agreed” and taking accountability and making sure he understands. Definitely not. Maybe bring it up to his father as well to help with that and set something up going forward as far as expectations and who will be doing the “discipline” for him to not cause frictions
