Hi friends. Me and my ex have a 3 1/2 yr daughter. We broke up june 2024 and I moved back to my home state 4 hrs away. He wasn't physical but he would threaten and damage the house. He was also terrible with money. We never went to court to sort out the custody, I left with my daughter and he complained but he never went to court about it. He is allowed to visit and pays child support she lives with me 24/7.
My issue is his new girlfriend is pregnant and expecting in Jan 2027. I would rather be low contact with this new step sibling and I don't know if im being unfair by not having my daughter visit her new brother often. Im thinking just a couple a times a year basically at family parties and some other dates. Me and his girlfriend have never talked, all of us are in our twenties.
Her dad doesn't ever drive the 4 hrs to visit, so if they were to hang out I have to drive there. I've asked to meet in the middle several times over the past 2 years and he always has excuses.

I think if he isn’t currently making the effort to see her, then you are best just stick with the family events and things. I wouldn’t make a point of purposefully stopping it but it isn’t on you to facilitate this relationship between the siblings.
I will say, it is difficult when you don’t see siblings often due to parental dynamics. I lived with one sister and didn’t see my others at all and now we have a very stranger like relationship and my brother struggles with this massively.
