I started my son a little early due to gas, reflux and allergies but we started the first week with a variety of blended fruit, veg and porridge, we then introduced yoghurt and meat, we ensure almost every meal has a source of iron as babies iron stores run low at 6 months, he’s almost 6 months now and we are about to start baby led weening, he’s tried slices of avocado, broccoli and melty sticks and seems to do well. I bought a baby led weening cook book from Amazon and it’s got loads of recipes for easy meals and snacks :)

We started our 1st March baby already, just on mashed up banana, baby porridge and today he had a bit of (really crumbled up) scrambled egg.

We did the same for our now 2 year old and he is an AMAZING eater. One thing I think did help him become that is we let him self-feed/discover the food himself, we rarely spoon fed him! Mealtimes were messy but he’s always been the one in control and now everyone comments on what a good eater he is! So we will be doing the same with our March baby xx

Whatever way you decide to introduce, try to be relaxed when introducing food. It's not about the quantity they eat, more the variety they can be exposed to 😊 we adapted family meals from around 7/8 months and all 'ate' together which seemed to help.

Try to enjoy it and not stress too much. They will make a mess but it’s part of the process and if all they do is explore and play with the food at first that’s a great start!
