Steroid creams
Please any opinions about these on healing eczema? Did steroids make eczema worse? Did they heal your baby? My 5mo baby has really bad skin and I have heard so many stories about steroids that I’m now terrified to use them. Will they make his skin worse? How long have you used them for ? Please help

I have used steroids when it’s been really bad, I try and be very sparing - as thin a layer as possible and only on affected areas - not to be used on the face. They say no more than 5 days but I have never found I’ve needed that many consecutive days to calm a flare.
The best thing I have found to keep it calm (even in the heat wave - heat is our trigger, inside the elbows, knees and chins) is Epaderm which was prescribed by our Dr (the Epimax I found almost made it worse) I do find when I put the cream on it can make it look worse briefly then calms and looks better than before. I think it’s trial and error, I rarely use anything but water to wash , only water wipes and non bio washing powder - Ecover also make an unscented washing powder if that’s of interest.
Can I just ask where the eczema is? I have used nothing but warm water, cloth to wipe clean area every time then layering Mustela cicastela + vaseline on top... only then it lessened! I also recently added daily Vit D drops and it has helped even better!
